week 1 ( tuesday );
[So, at some point, if they volunteered beforehand (or, in the case of Lucina and Katara, if Lelouch volunteered them) Lief will have located your character and ask if they're available for a meeting to discuss the food situation. Assuming the answer was a yes, they'll be directed towards the longhouse.
Once everyone is there, he'll begin.]
Thank you, everyone, for volunteering to help. I deeply appreciate it, and I am certain that those who need help will as well.
There are details we need to confirm, though. First, where the food will be kept or how it will be distributed. Second, Lelouch would like to pair everyone off for gathering, unless any of you are unwilling. However, given our situation, he is uncertain as to whether to have rotating groups or not—but he may speak on that himself.
[He pauses.]
Third, if you do not have the skills to gather food but would like to learn, Bellamy and I are willing to teach. [...] And fourth—he and Raven would also like to have a few words with everyone, I believe?
And of course, anyone else who wishes to speak may do so. We are all in this together, after all.
[ooc: Yo, so this is an open mingle, so feel free to top-level/threadjack/etc. as you please—also, even if your character wasn't invited, they're free to crash the party anyway! You're also free to handwave your character being here, etc.]

can you maybe let me rest????
Well, this is a good way to do it. Come on.
[And with that, Bellamy tilts his head towards the water and starts heading down the beach.]
i am an innocent cal who has done nothing wrong!!
Where did you learn how to fish...? Oh, and all of these other useful skills too?
[Seriously...how does she learn to be this helpful]

We were required to take a class on survival skills where I'm from. The rest is experience.

Amazing...
[So cool!!
She was kept way too sheltered and under her stepmother's thumb for anything like that, so anyone with a wide breadth of experiences is amazing to her in every way.]
Um... I'll do my best to learn how to fish, but do you think you can teach me more things, too? I don't know what, but... I definitely want to learn!
no subject
Sure, if you want. Do you just want to learn how to survive here, or...?
[Or what, Nino! Give him categories.]
no subject
Um... what's one of your favorite things that you know how to do?
no subject
I learned how to do this out of necessity. The things I enjoy doing are things you probably already know how to do.
no subject
Hm... even if it isn't useful here... I still want to know what sorts of things you like, though! I guess I'm just curious.
no subject
[And then he had no free time on the ground!]
no subject
[She...definitely can't read.
So.
This sounds mythical and amazing to her.]
no subject
[But he's a history and mythology nerd, oops.]
no subject
[A mother?? Reading to her kids??? Sounds fake but okay.]
What's The Iliad about...? I've never heard of it before.
no subject
[He wants to know how much explaining he's going to have to do here.]
no subject
[... so yeah.
Fantasyland.]
no subject
The Iliad is one of the oldest surviving stories where I'm from. It's about the end of a war between a city called Troy and the Greeks.
no subject
Still... maybe the end of the war was particularly happy?]
That's what your mother read to you?
no subject
Yeah. She taught me a lot about... [Not from Earth, Bellamy.] About that part of history. It isn't as depressing as it sounds.
no subject
[... Thoughtfully:]
Even if things were sad, and grim... the end of it means there's a lot of hope, too. For the future!
no subject
Do you want to read it?
no subject
[She shuffles in place a little, casting her gaze downwards, embarrassed.]
I'd like to, but... I'm sorry--I don't know how to read.
no subject
Want me to teach you?
[He taught Octavia, after all.]
no subject
[... She looks excited, but tentatively so.]
You don't mind...?
no subject
[So grim it is.]
