[Well, that was a fun day for everyone.

But 'sup, Bellamy. Sometime later, Lief's seeking him out to make sure he didn't go 100% martyr and refuse to be looked at. At least, because some people (namely, Fie) are a tad intimidating, Lief's been patched up, his left arm in a makeshift sling.]

[Bellamy is quieter than usual, his expression somber. His head is still aching steadily, and he can't seem to shake it.]

As good as it's going to get. You okay?

I have broken worse.

[The whip lashes and burns on his front and back are going to make sleeping a pain, but it seems petty to complain when Bellamy's in a similar state (and, indeed, worse with his eye or lack thereof).]

How is Raven?

[jettisons]

Still not talking. I don't know what the hell is wrong with her throat.

[reidentify]

Creatures can do strange things. [...] Perhaps if we perform well at the trial, the Chiefs may be willing to give something to help with it—though that may be hoping for too much.

[To venture into the jungles. There's no judgment in his voice (he'd be pretty hypocritical if there was), but.]

[jettisons]

[But that feels a little bit like deflecting responsibility.]

We're running out of time, and I was all for it.

[reidentify]

[He was asking for somewhat different reasons, but he doesn't feel the need to explain them at the moment.

He shakes his head.]

I do not blame anyone. I was all too willing to go when Jacopo suggested it, after all—for reasons similar to you, it seems. Prussia was the only one who came simply to protect me, when I notified her.

[jettisons]

It's good you had her there.

[Bellamy crosses his arms, staring down at the sand.]

I screwed up. I didn't have their backs.

... You all made it out alive. That in itself is a victory.

[jettisons]

Not enough of one. I don't know how the hell we get out of this, Lief.

[reidentify]

... I am no closer to the answer than you are. We found nothing but nightmares in the cavern.

[He sighs, running a hand through his hair with his good hand.]

I can only imagine the yelling that the others are preparing for tonight.

We probably deserve it.

[Bellamy is in a Mood.]

Someone else is going to die tomorrow, and I can't do anything about it.

It is not your responsibility alone, Bellamy.

[jettisons]

I know that.

[He does, really, and he's far beyond the point of trying to fix everything himself. It does help on some level to know that Lief and so many others are trying to figure this out too, but the reality is that they haven't made any headway.]

I'm out of plans, Lief.

[There's anger leaking into his voice, quiet and sharp.]

That was my last idea. We have nothing.

[reidentify]

... We need more information. That is what we lack right now, and why we have no other plans.

[jettisons]

And how the hell are we supposed to get that when no one is talking?

[reidentify]

And you, Bellamy? Are you among the group that is saying nothing?

[jettisons]

No. I don't have anything that would help us. If I did, I wouldn't be missing an eye right now.

[reidentify]

... What kind of information do you think would help us at the moment?

[jettisons]

What the roles are and how they work. How the hell we're supposed to win this.

[He sighs, shaking his head.]

I'd rather someone just tell me how I can fry those fucking robots.

[reidentify]

Unfortunately, "frying the robots" will likely render us all unable to return home.

[He's quiet for a moment, before he takes in a breath.]

... I may know a bit about a role. There are things I need to confirm, and what I know is of no real help, but it is a start. I cannot tell you yet, without speaking to certain people, but—

I do not want you to lose hope.

[jettisons]

[Bellamy glances up finally, eyes meeting Lief's.]

Is it good news or bad news?

[reidentify]

... Good news, I think? It is not enough to truly say one way or another, but... from what I have heard, it may be confirmed that the item role is on our side.

[jettisons]

[That's something. A shred of something. Bellamy nods.]

If I find out anything, I'll tell you.

[reidentify]

[He manages a smile.]

Thank you. [...] This game is built on trust, though it is a difficult thing to give. Still, I would like to trust you, Bellamy—and Raven, for I assume whatever I say will reach her as well.

[jettisons]

[That's a fair assumption, and basically true, but.]

If you need to tell me something in confidence, I won't pass it on.

[He pauses briefly, then amends.]

Unless it would put her in danger.

[Then all bets are off.]

[reidentify]

[He nods.]

Of course. I want both of you to be safe.

[And he has no reason to distrust Raven—honestly, she and Bellamy are two of his favourite people on this island—but sometimes, when necessary, information is better kept to as few as possible.]

[jettisons]

Listen, whatever happens, whatever you don't want to share or can't, we're on the same side. I want to get everyone out of here, not just me and Raven.

[reidentify]

... I will admit that past experiences have left me with some difficulty in trusting others. [Though Lief genuinely wants to believe in the best of people, he's had that faith taken advantage of more than once.] But I do believe that, Bellamy—in you.

[jettisons]

We believe in you too, Lief. That was never a question. You're a good person—a good leader. I know you'll do what's best for everyone.

[reidentify]

[...

His breath catches in his throat—not for any cause of this place, but as he thinks of home. He swallows.]

I am not sure if I am a good leader, but I will try and live up to those expectations.

[jettisons]

You are.

[Bellamy says it firmly, gaze steady.]

You remind me of someone back home. She used to doubt herself the same way, but she had no idea how much she did for us.

[reidentify]

... I—

[He's failed the people who believed in him back home, because he miscalculated and their trust in him brought them down with him. He's terrified that he'll make the same mistake here.]
