week 3 ( monday );
[Meeting in the longhouse is a go! Lief clears his throat, as a part of him wonders how he keeps ending up in this situation, but:]
Thank you all for gathering here. These past few weeks have been difficult, but I pray that none of us fall into despair. Now, more than ever, we need to keep our spirits up and put an end to this twisted game.
Vriska and Kirigiri have asked that we take advantage of our time now to discuss our next course of action, without an immediate deadline constraining us, driving us to ill temper. As we have struggled with how we should approach the trial, perhaps we should focus on the roles—the ones with the purpose to kill.
In particular, what sort of people would the Chiefs place in such a role? Not necessarily who would kill, normally, but who would be the Chiefs' "ideal" candidates. That is what we wish to figure out.
... Of course, we may not come to a complete agreement. But perhaps we will walk away from this with a better idea of how to go on from here, if nothing else.

Who does everyone here like? That girl who lost an eye - Nino, for example. She seems harmless enough, and what better way to make her seem sympathetic to the rest of us than to single her out right at the start to receive such a gruesome punishment for breaking their rules?
[Let that idea roll around in your head for a bit.]
My experience with it is personal, but I'll tell you about it, because I have nothing to hide. The world I'm from is currently under the thumb of a tyrant, someone bent on shaping the world in his image, and that means executing all criminals, as well as anyone who dares to oppose him. He's in bed with law enforcement, so I've chosen to fight him by allying myself with criminals. He's been at this for years, so there aren't many criminals left, but those who have managed to survive have done so by being rather clever about it. Now, the best way to get criminal types to accept you is with something that shows exactly what you're capable of. Me? I brought them the head of a rival gang boss, someone no one else had been able to kill. And how did I do that? [He spreads his hands out, palms up, a nonverbal ta-da.] By getting him to trust me. By appearing to be such a non-threat that he didn't even see me coming until he was already bleeding out.
[So. Maybe that part of his profile about "committing all the crimes" makes a little more sense now.]

But from the looks of it, you aren't making such efforts here. If anything, the way you've been acting is making you look suspicious. Is that intentional?

I'm not going out of my way to appear suspicious, though some people are apparently determined to see me as such.

I don't expect the rest of you to understand me, and honestly, despite what the gamerunners said about the point of this game being to trust each other, I think it's absolute folly to trust anyone here.
