[Meeting in the longhouse is a go! Lief clears his throat, as a part of him wonders how he keeps ending up in this situation, but:]

Thank you all for gathering here. These past few weeks have been difficult, but I pray that none of us fall into despair. Now, more than ever, we need to keep our spirits up and put an end to this twisted game.

Vriska and Kirigiri have asked that we take advantage of our time now to discuss our next course of action, without an immediate deadline constraining us, driving us to ill temper. As we have struggled with how we should approach the trial, perhaps we should focus on the roles—the ones with the purpose to kill.

In particular, what sort of people would the Chiefs place in such a role? Not necessarily who would kill, normally, but who would be the Chiefs' "ideal" candidates. That is what we wish to figure out.

... Of course, we may not come to a complete agreement. But perhaps we will walk away from this with a better idea of how to go on from here, if nothing else.

That's a good point, too. I think it's safe to say that everybody got something that meant something to them no matter how much value it has, but if it's something really useful or something that means a lot...I could see it. But at the same time you'd think they'd withhold it from us instead of giving it to us. Like a reward system? That's where I get stuck with that.

The "profiles" they have on us are more or less accurate as well. So, maybe it's not an incentives system so much as them letting us know how much they have on us.

Well--- [clears throat awkwardly] I mean, the things that aren't jokes. Names, age, height, weight. It varies from profile to profile, but more or less.

And the reason that's effective is that it's just enough to put a little fear into the ones who really have big secrets they probably don't want the rest of the island to find out. That's actually not a bad idea to explore, dude. I don't know how much of that might be true, but it's definitely something. Why else give us public access to the profiles?

Come to think of it...why are three profiles being picked out each week? That's the second time they've done that.

Maybe we're overthinking this and there's no real reason.

There's no real thread tying all the profiles together from last week.

This week, the only common denominator that they have is that they all share the same name.

Twins. Who also share the same first name. [Okay you know what whatever this isn't the point.] Whatever, never mind. Has anybody asked if there might be a reason besides "because they feel like it"?

I was going to, but I was told by Mr. Jaffar that he had spoken to them and they simply said that it had no bearing on the killings.

[Which is NOT HELPFUL AT ALL.]

So it's just a waste of time? Come on. [He's just going to bury his head in his hands.] Stupid.

It may still have something to do with the "game" itself, in a way? But I don't think they'd be inclined to say how, if it is and isn't something as obvious as the killings.

I don't think it'd be as obvious to the killings either, unless maybe it has something to do with the partners of those people? That could be a reason, too. We all know we're tied to somebody around here. So not really about the killing but isn't everything sort of about the killing now?

That much is true... What do you think it might say about the partners, though? Miss Austria and Mr. Joshua weren't brought up in either of the last two, right?

The first week it was Erhard, Shinjiro and Serph. Wanted for bio-terrorism, cutting class, illegal drug use, killing someone's mom, cannibalism, anarchy and insurgency. Last week it was Battler, Mera and Yona. Wanted for a massacre, broken promises, incompetence, being the queen of Atlantis that'll ruin it, refusing to listen to her dad and having poor taste in guys. In that order.

[...hmmm.] Okay, so maybe there isn't much. But then again Yona's profile was featured last week and she found Joshua's body. And I guess if you look at it, Joshua asked Neku to be the one to execute him if it ever came up, but since it didn't that's sort of a broken promise. It's all a stretch and I know it doesn't mean anything and looking at them too closely is too much of a waste of time right now, but it's better to explore possibilities now than waste time in a trial. Right?

Right - that's the entire point of this, isn't it? To explore all of the little theories and possibilities that we won't have time to address when we're meant to be focusing on finding killers with very little to go on.

[HE DOESN'T KNOW ABOUT THIS THEORY IN PARTICULAR but the entire checkmark thing still seems Important.]

Do you recall if any of the first three found any of the body parts that first week?

Exactly. We have all kinds of time to waste outside of the trials, so let's use it. [Thanks for at least entertaining the idea, Jack.]

Pretty sure Erhard was with Vriska and Alistair when they found one of her arms. So again, could just be coincidence but...[It is definitely coincidence but that's fine.]

[He's here to entertain ideas okay it's what he does!!]

Goodness... It's something to keep an eye out for this week then, right? That shouldn't be difficult to do, at least.

[He hopes he doesn't lose the Jack Corpse Discovery Roulette.]

I think it'll be easy to track and if it happens for a third week in a row? Then we might need to revisit the theory. Maybe if you guys stuck together on Friday it wouldn't hurt either. [Why would you put the three Jacks together though, that sounds like a mess.]

[Jack doesn't mind Jack or Jack, so at least he'd be fine with that?!]

It may be a wise idea... I'll bring it up if I see either of them again. I'll try to an eye out for any other possible similarities between the three of us, too.

Thanks, Jack. Even if this turns out to be a huge coincidence it's better to know than hate ourselves later for not looking more closely.

Exactly so... In the meantime, though, I can't think of much else. At least not related to those marks, specifically.

Has anyone tried asking them? I doubt they'd give a real answer, but it's worth a shot.
