It's as he's doing this that he hears a knock on the door. After a pause, he walks over to open it.]

[ that isn't really the surprising thing, actually, considering that somehow, Prussia and Lief's hut has somehow become the go-to place for purified water.

no, what's surprising is that Lelouch looks a thousand times more frazzled than he is usually, almost like he's jumping at non-existent shadows that only he can see. he's also apparently covering his left eye, his brow scrunched up in something akin to pain.

hallucinatory effects aren't fun.

He can't quite tell what's happening, but this is probably more of a "questions later" moment, and so he hands over his bottle of water to Lelouch.]

[ oh yeah, definitely a thing for the "questions later" moment, but he takes the water with a shaky free hand, the one that's not clutching his eye in hallucinatory agony.

... My eye. [ he looks loath to use his other hand to actually open the bottle, but when he does, even though he still looks pained, there's nothing actually wrong with Lelouch's eye ] Suzaku-- it's burning, everything hurts.

he's. kind of a mess. there's a gasp of pained, broken laughter. ]

[ it's complicated, lief. like. 50 episodes and an ova worth of complicated. don't ask if you don't have the time :/

thankfully, the hallucination doesn't last long after that outburst (thank goodness for a 10 minute time limit), because after that, it seems like he's calming down, and when he finally looks up at lief again, it's like he finally registers his surroundings, and he exhales. ]

...... the hallucinations.

[ it's a question, even if it doesn't sound like one. this isn't the first time today that he's experienced them, so he kind of. roughly knows. ]

[Also, he'd like his bottle back if Lelouch doesn't need it anymore, because he kind of only has the one.]

[ damnit. he has no use for the waterbottle now, so even though he's spilled a little bit of water on the floor from earlier (oops), there's still a substantial amount of water still in it, which is why he hands the bottle back to Lief wordlessly. ]

It's fine now. I was formerly blinded in that eye, and the hallucinations I've been experiencing today seem to have that as a common thread.

[While Lief has technically been through the experience of being pinned down by his best friend while his other best friend causes him grevious harm, there was at least a very good reason for it (also, he doesn't have any memory of it), so, uh.
